An ambitious newspaper reporter (Dick Powell), eager to scoop the competition, wishes he could know the news before it happens. A mysterious old man (John Philliber) grants the reporter that power, even as he cautions against using it. Now able to predict the news 24 hours in advance, the reporter goes about scooping all the other papers, picking sure-fire winners at the race t...。延敏以假身份与一位军官通信。他们采用的是十分古老的飞鸽传书方式，延敏非常乐在其中。事实上，这名军官早已洞悉到了她的谎言，依然与延敏保持联系。通信有5年之久了，两人正准备见面的时候，延敏却没有出现。 难过十分的军官回到了与延敏通讯时居住的小镇，寻找着对方的点滴。期间常常有信鸽给他送来勉励的话语。随后，他在书店里遇到了一名女孩，似曾相识的感觉令他困惑不已。临别之际，他再次来到这间书店，向女孩诉说着自己的失落与伤心。 多年后，他看到了《白色情人节》这本书，才明白了书店女孩的真实身份。。
