陈塘关总兵李靖负责替天庭看管宝物，他的儿子哪吒（释小龙 饰）聪明伶俐，武艺高强。某日，土地公公的干儿子猪八戒（郝邵文 饰）闯入府中，惹出不少祸端，幸得哪吒帮助方脱离危险，两人从此成为好友。两个小家伙玩心骤起，将书房弄得乱七八糟。适值此时，西海和东海龙宫联姻，西海龙女不愿出嫁。哪吒在海边戏耍，搅扰龙宫动荡不安，龙女更趁机逃跑。哪吒出手相助，与三太子展开厮杀。 另一方面，东海傲来国花果山上有一尊石猴，经过数千年风吹雨打、吸收日月精华，石猴（林志颖 饰）终于幻化成形，在猴祖的点播下他学会七十二般变化，并决定前往东海龙宫取回如意金箍棒。他的到来更在龙宫引起一片混乱……。阿吉是海鲜铺的伙计，嗜武如命，又喜打抱不平，为老板若来不少麻烦。一日，他因见当地恶霸欺压乡民，而与他们发生冲突，后被师傅逐出门墙，在机缘巧合下拜在螳螂派门下学习螳螂拳，后师傅与爱人双双被恶霸仇家所杀，阿吉悲愤异常，神智疯癫，正好练成癫螳螂，无形中功夫大进，在铲除恶霸后，却无法复原，镇民为纪念他给他取了一个外号“癫螳螂”。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
